The P-51 Mustang is considered by many to be the best fighter aircraft of WWII. The P-51 Mustang came about when the British Purchasing Commission asked North American Aviation to produce the Curtiss P-40 for the RAF, but North American stated they could build something better. The P-51D is considered by many experts to be the definitive variant of the Mustang as it was the most widely produced. It featured a bubble canopy which gave the pilot superb all-round visibility as well as a heavier armament of six 12.7mm machine guns. The unmistakable form of this famous aircraft is accurately reproduced based on actual design drawings of the aircraft as well as thorough study of actual examples of the aircraft.

This is a 1/350 scale plastic assembly kit of the Japanese Aircraft Carrying Cruiser Mogami. In the latter half of the Pacific War, the Japanese Navy refitted the Mogami to improve her reconnaissance ability. Construction of the Mogami was completed in July 1935, and she was initially armed with five triple 15.5cm main guns. After the withdrawal of the London Naval Treaty, she was refitted with three triple 20.3cm main guns and became a heavy cruiser. In the first half of WWII, she served at the Malayan Operation and the Battle of Sunda Strait. Later at Midway in June 1942, she was heavily damaged by an aircraft bombing raid but was able to return to port. During repairs, she was fitted with an upper deck which could carry 11 aircraft, and ten triple 25mm anti-aircraft batteries were added for defense.

The I-400 was a submarine the likes of which the world had never seen before. At the time of their completion, the I-400 and her sister ships were the largest, and arguably the most advanced submarines in the world. With a 122m length, 12m width, and 6,560 ton displacement, their size rivalled that of destroyers of the time and their amazing endurance could allow them to traverse the globe one and a half times. Loaded with 3 Seiran bombers, the planned attack on the Panama Canal was only moments away from reality. Diverted to attack the gathering Allied invasion fleet at Ulithi, the war ended before the submarines could launch their strike. However, the I-400 class submarines' technological advances were recognized and it can be said that they helped influence the development of nuclear ballistic submarines after the war.

This kit depicts the HMS King George V, the lead ship of her namesake class of battleships which served the Royal Navy during WWII. Her flat-sided bridge area and distinctive stern shape have been accurately reproduced. Modellers can also enjoy exploring the layout of various superstructure areas such as the navigation and compass decks. Her formidable appearance is completed by her armament of ten 14-inch guns, sixteen 5.25-inch guns, and over 100 anti-aircraft guns. Model comes with a stand with nameplate for a gorgeous display.

The Musashi was the second ship in the Yamato class of battleships built by the Japanese Navy. Her most distinguishing features were her 9 huge 46cm guns, which had a range of 41km and could penetrate 43cm of armor plating at a distance of up to 30km. The massive ship had a displacement of over 70,000 tons, and was laid down on March 29, 2013. Some two and a half years later in November 1940 she was launched and finally commissioned for service on August 5, 1942. Model depicts the Musashi as she appeared in the Battle of the Philippine Sea.

Tamiya has re-released the B-339 export version of the Buffalo used by the Royal Air Force and Netherlands East Indies Army Air Corps during WWII. Tamiya 1/48 Dambuster/Grand Slam Bomber

The four-engined heavy bomber of the RAF, the Avro Lancaster, performed a variety of bombing operations and other roles during WWII. The B.I (Special) configuration of the aircraft, known as the "Grand Slam Bomber" was modified to carry the largest bomb made in war, the 22,000lb (9,979kg) "Grand Slam bomb". Assembly plastic model kit based on the masterpiece bomber of the RAF, the Grand Slam Bomber (Lancaster BI Special 22000lb. Bomb). It is impressive in both detail and size. Model overflows with detail from the intricate suspension to the tires that appear to deform under the weight of the aircraft. The D.520 was officially accepted by the French Air Force to be its mainstay fighter aircraft in 1939, the year that WWII began. Not many were in service at the time of the German invasion of France in 1940, but the D.520 was one of the few aircraft which could counter the Luftwaffe's Messerschmitt Bf109 and pilots such as Pierre Le Gloan and Denis Ponteins earned ace status while flying it. Kit includes two standing figures, a pilot and an officer, as well as one seated pilot figure. Comes with three distinctive marking options for aircraft flown by French aces. A staff car kit is also included to enable creation of an airfield diorama straight from the box.

Tamiya 1/48 Dornier Do335A Twin Cockpit - Trainer Version

Although the hopes of the Luftwaffe rested on the twin-engine Dorner Do335 becoming Germany's next overpowering force in the sky, its deployment was prematurely cut short by the close of WWII. The unique design of this multipurpose aircraft featured two liquid cooled engines powering two propellers. The design of the Do335 was nothing short of revolutionary, and provided an incredible top-speed of 760km/h.

Tamiya 1/48 Douglas A-1J Skyraider™ U.S. Air Force

Originally designed as a carrier-borne attack aircraft, the Skyraider eventually had a distinguished career which spanned over thirty years. The A-1J variant which was introduced in 1956 equipped the U.S. Air Force, which employed it as an escort for search and rescue helicopters as well as in the normal ground attack role. Distinctive features of the USAF version such as the various antennas on the fuselage have been accurately reproduced and the kit includes an impressive arsenal of bombs, rocket pods, and gun pods with which to arm the model. One pilot figure and two marking options are also included.

Tamiya 1/48 Douglas F4D-1 Skyray

Towards the end of World War II, many information about advanced aeronautical technology were captured in Germany by the U.S. Forces. One of them was an analysis of the studies carried out by Dr. Alexander Lippisch on deltawinged aircraft. Based upon the information, the Douglas firm developed the F4D Skyray, the only operational interceptor with delta wings in the U.S. Navy. Although the Skyray never saw any combat, it proved its high capability as an interceptor with numerous world records and scramble actions in Taiwan in response to crises in late 1950's.

In 1953, the Thunderbirds were formed as an Air Demonstration Squadron. From 1984 the F-16A was used, but in 1992 they had changed to the F-16C model. Every year from March through to November, the Thunderbirds perform about 40 times at various air shows throughout the world and America. In this kit a smoke generator pipe is attached to the jet nozzle, just like the actual aircraft, and an exclusive newly-developed pilot figure is included.

Tamiya 1/48 Focke-Wulf Fw190 A-8/A-8 R2

Features recessed panel lines, detailed landing gear and decals. The study and verstaile Focke-Wulf Fw190A mounted a radial air-cooled BMW801 engine, and received continual upgrades to engine output and combat strength after first entering service in 1941. Deployed in spring 1944, the A-8 series was armed with four 20mm MG151/20E cannon and two 13mm MG131 machine guns. It featured a firing alignment device, wireless radio and Morane antenna along with a methanol-water injector and tank for extra power.
