AUF1 155mm Self-propelled Howitzer is a heavy ground weapon developed by French Industries or Groupement des Industries de l'Armée de Terre (GIAT) in the 1970’s. It is based on modified chassis of AMX-30B MBT and equipped with a 155mm 39-caliber gun with an auto-loading system. It is also equipped with a roof-mounted 12.7mm anti-aircraft gun. They were used by French Army and also exported to Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Iraq used this howitzer against Iran during the Iran-Iraq war. It was also used as French Army’s main equipment during peacekeeping operation in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1992.

During the early days of its service, the French FT-17 light tank was fitted with a riveted turret which had some disadvantages, such as complex manufacturing process, poor bullet-proof properties and failure to achieve a full rotation. Later, a new cast turret with riveted and welded construction was developed by Forges et aciéries Paul Girod. The new turret which was manufactured with a simplified process could achieve a full rotation, and it helped improve the tank’s overall performance.

The French FT-17 light tank with a cast turret could accommodate a crew of 2. It was armed with an 8mm Hotchkiss M1914 machine gun or a 37mm Puteaux SA18 gun. FT-17s of the French Army were upgraded with 7.5mm Reibel MAC Mle.31 machine gun from 1931 onwards. Those tanks were primarily used in the WWII.

Over 4100 FT-17s were built in France, and they were widely used in many countries around the world (27 countries confirmed). In the strict sense, the FT-17 was the first real tank in the world. It played a vital role in the history of tank development.

AMX-30 was a second-generation main battle tank equipped by the French Army (Armée de Terre). AMX-30B was its first production version. AMX-30 sacrificed protection for light weight so as to obtain strong mobility. It was equipped with a 105mm L/56 rifled gun and also a 20mm autocannon against slow flight vehicles. French, Saudi Arabian and Qatari AMX-30s  saw operation during the Gulf War in 1991.

Char 2C was a French super heavy tank designed in the last phase of WWI. It’s still the biggest tank ever taken into production in the world. It was developed by a French shipyard, Forges et Chantiers de la Méditerranée (FCM) located near Toulon. It had a crew of 12. Its main armament was a 75mm gun and auxiliary armament was four 8mm machine guns. It was 10.27m long and 3m wide with a loaded weight of 69t. It was powered by two German Maybach 250hp engines via electric transmission. It could drive at the speed of 12-15km/h. Its armour- 45mm at the front and 22mm at the sides- could stand the attack of anti-tank weapons in the 1920s and 1930s. Most interestingly, the 10 Char 2Cs ever produced were named after the ancient regions of France.

The Panzerhaubitze 2000 is one of the most advanced self-propelled howitzers in the world. The vehicle utilizes a large number of chassis parts of Leopard 1 MBT and Leopard 2 MBT. It is powered by the MTU MT881 engine which provides excellent mobility; it is armed with a Rheinmetall 155mm L52 gun with an advanced sight and fire-control system. 60 rounds are stored vertically on board in a horseshoe arrangement. Its automatic shell-loading system has realized automatic management of all ammunition. This vehicle entered German Army service in 1998, and then into armies of Italy, the Netherlands and Greece.

The Achzarit heavy armoured personal carrier (late) is updated from its early version. It received a modification of its suspension where original wheels and tracks were replaced by Centurion wheels and new reinforced tracks. It's equipped with an OWS (Overhead Weapon System) and also with a pair of smoke grenade launches in the front of the hull. This vehicle is the cutting edge of the Mechanized Infantry of the IDF, and it saw service during the 2nd Lebanon War in 2006.

The polygon machine gun turret equipped with four Hotchkiss MGs was on the rear of the hull. In total, 200 Mk.A Whippet medium tanks were produced. It first saw battles in March 1918. After WWI, it was still active in the conflict areas such as Ireland and Russia. The Imperial Japanese Army once purchased six Mk.A tanks.

The Russian T-90 main battle tank is a modernization of the T-72B MBT. It was designed by the Ural Design Office of Transport Mechanical Engineering. In 1992, its production started and then it entered service in Russian troops. The tank consists of a large caliber smoothbore gun which can launch missiles, auxiliary machine guns and an automatic fire control system; it is mounted with Russian Shtora (“curtain” in English) combined electro-optical countermeasures suite to protect the tank against laser guided weapons; and it is also fitted with a NBC protection system. U.S. Cougar 6×6 MRAP vehicle, developed by the U.S. company Force Protection Inc., is an armored vehicle which can withstand roadside bombs attacks and ambushes. It is powered by a 330hp Caterpillar C-7 diesel engine; it uses a 6x6 chassis; its maximum speed can be up to 105km/h; it can carry 10 people; The vehicle can withstand the detonation of 13.6kg TNT charge under front and rear axles, and 6.8kg TNT charge under the middle of the vehicle; both the hull and bullet-proof windows can withstand 7.62mm bullets; an M2 MG, M240 GPMG or MK19 grenade launcher can be mounted on the roof. In 2004, Cougar started to serve in U.S. armed forces. It’s mainly used for patrols, transporting troops, commanding, towing heavy guns, engineering service and rescuing. In November of the same year, Cougar vehicles with the 1st Marine Division of United Stated Marine Corps stationed in Iraq took part in the Battle of Fallujah.

The Messerschmitt Me410, nicknamed the Hornisse ("Hornet"), was a German heavy fighter and Schnellbomber used by the Luftwaffe during World War II. It was developed from the Me210 and fitted with a more powerful Daimler-Benz DB 603A engine, which greatly improved its flight performance .
