Tamiya 1/48 Nakajima Gekko Model 11 Late-Production

Originally developed as a long-range fighter, the Japanese Navy's Gekko Model 11 (Allied reporting name "Irving") eventually became a successful nightfighter against B-17, B-24, and B-29 bombers. This kit accurately reproduces this aircraft with its twin Sakae engines and 20mm cannons which were mounted to fire at an upward angle. Two crew figures and two marking options included.

Tamiya 1/48 Hayate Frank Kit

From Tamiya's 1/48 scale aircraft series, these kits are big enough to hold on to and appreciate all of the details. They are big enough for the novice as well as the professional to build, enjoy and display. The accuracy in detailing is there and yet the parts are simplified for ease of assembly. All include decals, full history and easy to follow instructions. Wingspan measures approx. 9" and fuselage approx. 8" when complete.

Tamiya 1/48 Republic P-47D Thunderbolt - "Razorback"

The P-47 was the first single-seated fighter to be equipped with a supercharger, allowing it to fly at the same high altitude as the bombers. This high-flying fighter was armed with eight 12.7mm machineguns that proved very useful in the intense fighting that occurred in the European skies. Equipped with drop tanks for longer range, the P-47D was then able to escort the bombers all the way to the German border. The Thunderbolt also allowed many Allied pilots to become Aces. Bomber crews plagued day after day by intensive German interceptions, would remark that the presence of the P-47 was of great help.

The kit consists of 185 parts in dark green plastic plus the now familiar cast metal lower hull tub, a length of twine for the tow cables, a few poly caps plus the decal and instructions sheets.

Tamiya 1/48 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb

The Supermarine Spitfire is regarded by many as the most beautifully designed single seat fighter to appear during the Second World War. Conceived by the renowned British designer Reginald J. Mitchell, the protoype first flew on 5 March 1936. It was an advanced, low wing monoplane with a very slim fuselage and smooth flush riveted metal skin. A very nice, simple build with this kit!

The model accurately captures the truck's large fuel tank and hard-top cab. The tank-side doors can be assembled in closed or open position, and parts are also included to depict the hose reel, with vinyl tubing and enamel wire to recreate the hose itself. Separate parts are included to recreate the tank-front pump. Comes with 2 figures depicted in the act of refueling, and also features 2 marking options for U.S.A.F. vehicles.

The first M4 Sherman production model was designated the M4A1, and possessed a distinctively rounded cast hull. A total of 6,281 M4A1 tanks were produced between February 1942 and December 1943. Armed with a 75mm M3 cannon and powered by a 350hp Continental air-cooled R975-C1 radial gasoline engine, the M4A1 was capable of top speeds of 38.9km/h. Early versions had the M34 gun mount with narrow shield, while the 3-piece gear housing was changed to a 1-piece design in later production runs. Applique armor was often added to the upper hull and turret in order to improve protection. The M4A1 served with many armies on various fronts, including with the British 8th Army in North Africa, where it contributed to the victory at El Alamein.

Tamiya 1/48 Vought F4U-1D Corsair - w/Moto Tug

The speedy Corsair debuted as the 1st US fighter plane to overcome the 400mph (644km/h) barrier. This kit is perfect for designing the ultimate U.S. Navy Scene Diorama. Aircraft Tug or "Moto-Tug" tractors, as they were nicknamed, were manufactured by Ford. The Ferguson Company modified these vehicles for ease of application in the U.S. Navy by lowering clearance, and reducing wheel diameter to make it more compact. This kit reproduces the double-wheel version of the "Moto-Tug" with minimal parts for ease of assembly.  Driver figure as well as two types of tow bars (main landing gear strut type and rear landing gear strut type) for "Moto-Tug" are also included.

1/6 scale assembly kit of the 1975 model of the Harley-Davidson FXE1200 Super Glide, the bike which kicked off the sports touring genre. The bike is faithfully recreated right down to the frame and wheels, and the model offers an enjoyable construction experience. The "Shovelhead" OHV V-Twin engine is portrayed with excellent attention to detail, including features such as the cooling fins, spark plugs and carburetor. Fully-moving front and rear suspension utilizes coil springs, and head- and taillights are also realistically reproduced. Features authentic renderings of the under-seat oil tank, and battery. Metal-plated wire spoke wheels add a further air of authenticity to the model, as do instrumentation dials depicted using accurate decals. The kickstand is sprung for movement like that on the actual bike.

1/700 Waterline Series assembly kit of the Musashi, which was laid down in 1938 as the second ship of the Yamato-class and completed in August 1942 as Japan's last battleship. The armor belts on the hull sides as well as the boat storage hangar at the stern feature a high degree of detail. The barrels of the triple 46cm gun turrets are individually-molded and feature sharply reproduced waterproof covers. The secondary 15.5cm guns, 12.7cm DP guns, radars, rangefinders, etc. are also highly detailed. Furthermore, the gun turrets can be freely rotated thanks to the use of polycaps.

This is a plastic model assembly kit of the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier CV-3 Saratoga. It depicts her as she appeared in the Battle of Iwo Jima in February 1945. The CV-3 Saratoga was launched as the second ship in the U.S. Navy's Lexington class of aircraft carriers in April 1925 and commissioned in November 1927. Fondly nicknamed "Sister Sara", she was in fact originally laid down as a battle cruiser but converted into an aircraft carrier during construction. Thus, she had a more slim-line hull than other carriers and featured an enclosed bow that was unusual for the times but improved protection from higher swells.

One of four Iowa Class battleships built by the U.S. Navy, the BB-62 New Jersey was first commissioned during WWII, and has since been deployed with distinction to significant modern day conflicts including Korea, Vietnam, Lebanon and the Gulf War. After serving for close to half a century, this historical battleship now makes her way to Tamiya's high quality Water Line series.

Tamiya 1/72 De Havilland Mosquito FB Mk.VI/NF Mk.II

This is a 1/72 scale plastic assembly kit model of the De Havilland Mosquito, the all wooden aircraft belonging to the R.A.F. This kit allows to choose to assemble either the most produced Mosquito variant, the Fighter Bomber FB Mk.VI, or the Night Fighter NF Mk.II. The beautiful style of the Mosquito has been accurately remodeled.

Tamiya 1/72 Douglas F4D-1 Skyray

This kit by Tamiya of the Douglas F4D-1 Skyray features fine recessed panel lines, clear parts, bomb rack and decals. Although the Skyray never saw any combat, it proved its high capability as an interceptor with numerous world records and scramble actions in Taiwan in response to crises in the late 1950's.

Tamiya 1/72 Junkers Ju-88 C-6

This kit is has detailed parts included to depict the unique characteristics of the heavy fighter, such as the solid nose with gun armament and flame dampeners for the engine exhausts. The Ju-88 was originally designed in 1936 as a fast medium bomber capable of outrunning enemy fighters, but proved so capable that it was also adapted for torpedo bomber, tankdestroyer, reconnaissance, heavy fighter, and nightfighter roles, making it one of the most versatile aircraft of WWII.

Tamiya 1/72 Kawanishi Shiden Type 11

Evolving from the Kawanishi N1K1 "Kyofu" floatplane, the Imperial Japanese Navy's N1K1-J Shiden had a unique pedigree amoung WW2 landplane fighters of the world. In January 1942, the Kawanishi Aircraft firm began adaptation of the Kyofu into a land based fighter, strictly as a private venture. This project was soon officially authorized under the designation N1K1-J, with the first prototype flying in December 1942. The airframe was basically the same as its predecessor, with main landing gear and tall wheel replacing the floats. In place of Kyofu's Mitsubihi Kasei engine, a more compact and powerful Nakajima Homare engine was installed.

Tamiya 1/72 Republic F-84G - "Thunderbirds"

The Thunderbirds aerial acrobatics team were originally activated on May 25, 1953 at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona for two purposes: to provide young pilots with ample training for frontline aerial combat, and to show the American public the impressive capabilities of U.S. airpower. Known for flying in the "diamond" four plane formation, the Thunderbirds frequently demonstrate dynamic loops, low-altitude rolls and vertical climbing which seems to contradict the laws of aeronautic.
